Mabuhay!
Welcome to our site.
Our group is called Homeschool Organization for Mentoring and Education, Philippines or HOME Phils., for short. We are a Christian homeschooling support group based in Quezon City, Philippines.
We are not a homeschool provider. We are a support group consisting of homeschoolers with different homeschooling styles. We organize activities for the benefit of our members.
If you are interested in homeschooling, we hope that we could provide help to you. If you are a homeschooler residing in the Manila, perhaps, you might want to meet us in one of our activities.
We are a cooperative where homeschoolers can find support and encouragement.
Whereas, some parents homeschool their children primarily for academic and family reasons, we are committed in mentoring our children in the ways and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. Other reasons fall second to that.
There are a lot of information that we need to post in the FAQ section. You can ask us about it personally, though! Visit us! We meet every second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at the 4/F Philippine Campus Crusade for Christ Center Bldg., #40 Scout Borromeo, South Triangle, Diliman, Quezon City (at the back of Star Cinema Productions).
Let your zeal in looking for answers for alternative education does not wane. Pray and ask God for wisdom.
Join a Filipino homeschool yahoogroup today! Click the yahoogroup links in the LINKS section.
God bless you!

mralquiros wrote on Sep 10, '10 Hi, I'm a mother of a slightly autistic child who is now on her 4h yr in HS. She is highly functional and cannot decide what course to take up. I need your help to find out where I can inquire since I'm interested in home schooling her. Most of my research are only home school for primary & secondary education. In short, I need to know if there is a homeschool or home study program for college for special children. Thank you. |
theclassicyou wrote on Jul 31, '10 hi my name is San :) I have been a home-school teacher since 2003 and I really enjoy what I'm doing. I think that home-schooling is great because it enables children to learn things at their own pace. I particularly appreciate the ACE method because it incorporates Christian values in all its subjects. I just finished my 6th year teaching with an Italian family..[and I'm missing the kids so much :') ] I started being their home-school teacher when they were little and now they went back abroad. If I can be of help to parents looking for a teacher for their kid, I'd be happy to help :) My email address is whispersolitude@gmail.com. I work around Makati City. |

homephilippines wrote on Sep 8, '09 Hi, Arly! We invite you to come to our library day this Thursday, Sept. 10, from 4 to 7 pm, Campus Crusade Center Office at #40 Scout Borromeo, South Triangle, Diliman, Quezon City (at the back of Star Cinema Productions). We have families who are coming this Thursday whose kids are all boys. If you are really interested in homeschooling, read as much as you can about it on the internet, join us in our yahoogroups (link provided in this website), and yes, meet us and ask your specific concerns. Sabi nga sa isang tv commercial, "mahaba habang usapan ito." "Natatakot lang kasi ako baka di ko maturo lahat and dapat matutunan ng mga anak ko." Your children will not learn everything even in regular school especially when they cram EVERYTHING inside their young heads. I doubt if children nowadays can have a mastery of what they are learning in school. They can memorize, yes, but can they apply what they learn in real life? Most of the time, you need to hire a tutor for your kids. I pity the children who lose their childhood because all they do after school and on weekends is study. These kids will eventually lose their creativity and love for learning. Education is a matter of perspective and having the right goals for your children. As for our group, we believe that God takes precedence in our children's education. We are not only concerned about their academic studies but also how they can live lives that will honor the Lord. (Eternity is longer than this life, you know.) This means that if we need to take a break from academic pursuits to inculcate a certain godly character, we FOCUS on that. In this case, they will be behind other children from regular school. But based from studies and from our own experience, homeschooled kids usually catch up because they learn discipline and LOVE for LEARNING from their homes. Homeschooling is, by far, the hardest thing we have personally done. But it is THE MOST REWARDING, too. We were able to BE THERE during BREAKTHROUGH moments of our kids like, reading for the first time, coming out of their shyness, personal discoveries, etc. Homeschooling is a LIFESTYLE, not just an alternative form of education. We MENTOR our children in character among other things. We lift up our children to God. Ang resulta ay nasa mga kamay Niya. We know that the Lord will honor us back by giving them successful lives in the future. Our homeschool pioneers will testify that God was indeed faithful by letting their children pass exams from universities (UP, Ateneo, La Salle, UST, etc.) and by providing the money for their college tuition (or scholarship). Hope that I have enlightened you even for just a bit. Give us a feedback on how we have helped you today...:-) God bless you, Jane Guinto |

If some of you are kind enough to teach me and encourage me please do so i really do need that. Especially i naman ako matalinong tao. More power and goodluck! Sana matulungan nyo ako.
